Dr. Nicola Normanno

Dr. Nicola Normanno is an internationally recognized expert in oncology and precision medicine, with a particular focus on molecular oncology, biomarkers, and innovative diagnostic strategies. He has held leading scientific roles at major Italian cancer institutions, including as Director of the Cell Biology and Biotherapy Unit and Chairman of the Research Department at INT Fondazione “G. Pascale”.

Dr. Normanno has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications and received the Annals of Oncology Prize for Translational Research in recognition of his contributions to the field. He is regarded as a pioneer in biomarker-driven oncology, an early adopter of next-generation sequencing technologies in clinical trials, and a leading authority in liquid biopsy.

His work has also played a key role in advancing molecular diagnostics and quality standards in molecular pathology, including through the organization of national and international external quality assessment schemes. In addition, he is President Elect of the Italian Society of Cancerology and an active member of several major oncology societies, including AACR, ESMO, and AIOM.
