Philippe Herman was trained in Paris, France, and became Fellow in 1992. After a PhD concerning the physiology of the ME mucosa, he became Associate Professor and then Full Professor in Lariboisiere Hospital, a major ENT and Skull Base Center, which is also the Reference Center for ENT Emergencies for Paris and suburb.
Thanks to a strong collaboration with the team of Prof Bernard George, and then Prof Froelich, he developed in the nineties and twenties expanded approaches to sinus and skull base. He now chairs the Department. Since 2014 he created along with Prof Castelnuovo and Prof Nicolai a University Diploma (Paris Cité University) of Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery.
He is the author or co-author of more than 250 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and is a member of the French ENT Society, the French Rhinology Society, the European Skull Base Society, the French College for ENT and Head and Neck Surgery, and a Foundering Member of the Italian Rhinology Society.
